It depends on the quality of the camera and the ability of the operator.
I decided to use 2 students of photography. However, photographs taken pictures of my sister with my digital camera were excellent Cheapo. You know what portraits, to do something that students know how the photography is done.

What we did was to distribute disposable cameras to be unique among the guests and had the opportunity again to our parents after the reception. It turned out well, I had a friend who had presented a good professional camera for the time, the images of the day. He saved money. Good luck.
